Training for BSAC Qualifications

As a BSAC club we provide full training to see that your diving skills are taught in a progressive way to help you build upon each experience step by step. Basic training starts in the safety of a swimming pool (at Wantage Leisure Centre), then progressing onto open water dives, with each step being signed off in your logbook. BSAC qualifications are recognised worldwide. There are 4 diver grades in the BSAC training system which are taught at our club. Click here to find out more about each grade.

Already qualified?

If you already have a diving qualification then Wantage Dive Club can offer you a regular programme of dives and the opportunity to learn advanced techniques and specialised skills. But the real advantage is in having a group of dive buddies who meet regularly, both for diving and social events, with whom you can gain further experience. You can start diving with the BSAC straight away. Your existing qualification will be recognised and you will be able to dive with our club once you have joined.

Progress your diving

Apart from the mainstream diving skills, there are many other areas of special interest that you may want to pursue. Some of these skills are taught within our club, others at regional BSAC events. These include: Rescue techniques, life-saving, first-aid, oxygen administration, Technical Diving, use of mixed gases and rebreathers, search & recovery, extended range diving, advanced techniques, Seamanship, boat handling, chartwork, navigation, outboard maintenance, Scientific, marine life identification, underwater archaeology, underwater photography, etc, etc

Instructors

Our club has a lot of experienced instructors, some of whom have been diving for over 30 years. As you progress through your diver training you too can join the instructor training programme if you are interested.
